What Happens at an Aesthetics Consultation?
If you are considering an aesthetic treatment for the first time, it is completely normal to have lots of questions. You might know that there is something you would like to improve, but not necessarily know which treatment would be most suitable for you.
At Wild Wisteria Skincare & Aesthetics Ltd in Spalding, this is why I believe a good consultation is such an important place to start.
Your Consultation Is About You
An aesthetics consultation isn't simply about choosing a treatment from a list.
It gives me the opportunity to sit down with you and find out what you would actually like to achieve. We can talk about the areas that concern you, your expectations and whether an aesthetic treatment is appropriate for you.
Sometimes the treatment somebody initially asks about may not be the option I would recommend after assessing their individual needs. I want you to understand the choices available to you rather than ever feeling pressured into having a treatment.
Creating Your Treatment Plan
Everyone's face and skin are different, which is why I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach.
Depending on your individual needs, we may discuss treatments such as:
- Anti-wrinkle treatments
- Dermal fillers
- Skin boosters
- Profhilo
- Seventy Hyal
- Polynucleotides
- Advanced skincare treatments
Your treatment plan may involve one treatment or a combination of treatments carried out over time.
My aim is always to help you make an informed decision and work towards results that suit you.
Safety Comes First
Your consultation is also an important part of making sure a treatment is suitable and safe for you.
We will discuss relevant medical information, medication, previous treatments, allergies and anything else that could affect your treatment.
I will also explain what the treatment involves, possible risks, expected results, aftercare and what you can realistically expect.
There may also be occasions when I advise that a particular treatment isn't suitable. I would always rather recommend that somebody doesn't have a treatment than carry out something I don't believe is appropriate for them.
What About Anti-Wrinkle Injections?
Anti-wrinkle injections using botulinum toxin are different because botulinum toxin is a prescription-only medicine.
If this treatment is suitable for you, an appropriate consultation and assessment with the prescriber will also be required before treatment can be prescribed.
There Is No Pressure to Have Treatment
Having a consultation does not mean that you have committed to having anything done.
You can ask questions, discuss the different options and take time to think about your decision.
For me, aesthetics should never be about changing who somebody is. It is about listening to what bothers you, discussing realistic options and, where appropriate, creating a treatment plan that helps you feel refreshed and confident while still looking like yourself.
